Day 180

movie: Mansfield Park (2007)
starring: Billie Piper, Joseph Beattie
genre: Romance, Drama,
year: 2007
format: DVD

plot: Fanny Price has been sent to live with her rich aunt and uncle, at age 10.  By age 19, she is doing her best to keep her ethics and morals among her spoiled cousins and their lovers.

This is based on the novel by Jane Austen, and is a made for tv movie.

Fanny Price is said to be the one heroine that nobody particularly likes.
When I talked about this story for an all Jane Austen challenge few years ago, I focused on the element of the two most "moral"characters of Fanny and Edmund, being in love and cousins.
It's still an element that sort of makes me cringe. But that's just me and I have to remember that during the time of Jane Austen, it was a common thing to marry a cousin for money reasons.

what did i learn from this film?
Ethics and values are something that can not be bought. Either you have a strong sense of conviction or you do not.
