Day 195

Movie: Batman 2 The Dark Knight
Starring: Christian Bale, Heath Ledger
Genre: Action, Drama, Crime
Year: 2008
Format: Shaw Video On Demand

Plot:  The Joker is hired by the mob bosses to help get revenge on D.A. Harvey Dent.  Soon, Batman finds himself both respecting Dent and being jealous of him for dating his former girlfriend.  After a brutal attack on Dent who has become disfigured - and becomes TwoFace- Batman starts to feel like it's time to pack it in.

This is by far, one of the best Batman films, in either of the series.
I can only imagine that had Heath Ledger lived longer, that they would have brought his character back in other films.
It's also odd that the Joker storyline is not the focus point of the movie as much as the Dent storyline is.

This feels like a midway point.  It has an overall sense of itself that it is only chapter two in a larger story (which of course it is) but with that said, it manages to handle itself as a stand alone film just fine.

What do I think I learned from this film?
This is one of those films that does carry a larger message, which I got as value everything you do.  Never let your deeds go with the idea that they weren't worth anything, because it really is true that one person can make a difference.   Sometimes even when you are not meaning to.
I also got the idea that one of the metaphors was about trying to balance the negative and positive in all we do.  Sort of an idea that everything is in the core neutral.  It's how we react to what has happened around us, be it because of something we've done or what has been done to us; that really puts the stamp on which side of the balance it falls.
