Day 232

movie: It's Complicated
starring: Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin
genre: Comedy, Romance
year: 2009
format: Shaw Video On Demand

plot: A divorced woman is finally starting to move on with her life, and starts to date again. Only her ex-husband is unhappy in his current marriage and convinces her to have an affair with him.

This is one of those it's so funny because you know someone who has fallen into this trap.
The humour is bang on in sometimes subtle ways and other times very over the top.
The chemistry between Streep and Baldwin is perfect.

This film also has a trend for Streep, as she plays a pastry chef. It almost brings her roles full circle as far as being connected to the food industry (in Heartburn she played a food critic, in Julie/Julia she played Julia Child)

what do i think i learned from this film?
It's easy to fall into old habits and patterns, but not always the wisest thing to do.  No one wants to be the other woman, or be lied to.  Some people never weigh the feelings of others before acting.
