Day 301

Hallowe'en Week

movie: Wes Craven's Cursed
starring: Christina Ricci, Jesse Eisenberg
genre: Horror
year: 2005
format: DVD

plot: A brother and sister are both bitten by a wolf after having been in a car accident. Soon, everyone around them are dying. Their only hope is to find the original werewolf that bit them and kill it.

Wes Craven is the master of teenaged horror.  This is one of my favourite Craven films. And one of my favourite werewolf films.

The story takes place in the television and movie industry, giving to scenes of  pure alpha fights. The werewolf-ism seems to heighten the already natural jealousies that are part of being in high profile jobs, such as being an agent for a top teen idol.

The set designers and costume people were not only brilliant with their additions of animal prints and wax work sets, but you feel the tongue in cheek humour when the big battles happen in the middle of all the smoke and mirrors.

what do i think i learned from this film?
Everyone wants to be the top dog, even if they don't admit it.
