Year 3 Day 9

movie: The Green Lantern
starring: Ryan Reynolds, Mark Strong
genre: sci-fi, action, adventure,
year: 2011
format; online (Netflix Canada)

plot: A young pilot finds himself chosen to be the protector of earth after an alien crashes.

Okay, three minutes into this and I'm like "vampire movie!"  because of the alien bad guy being an energy sucker.  Then when you think about it, the movie is also a witch movie, cause of the whole mind over matter-think it and manifest it, that the heroes can do.

I didn't love it, I didn't hate it. Lukewarm is about all I can give it. Reynolds seems to be able to pull off comic book based characters, he's got just the right mix of seriousness/comedic timing that makes you forget you're watching a possibly ridiculous plot.

What did I learn from this?  Everyone is capable of more then they think they are at first glance. A hero is more then his ego, more then what he is brought up to believe he is. And there is a little witch in all of us.
